Fenix operates in a highly dynamic work environment in downtown San Francisco and shares space with Instructables.com.

 

Internship Description:

We are seeking a capable electrical engineering or CS student with coding, circuit design/debugging & hands-on soldering experience. The internship will involve collaboration with Fenix staff engineers & designers on the design and development of Fenix’s consumer products.

 

Duties may include:

• PCBA design in Altium

• PCBA testing and Population

• SW development

• Ideation and prototyping of new products/accessories

• Development of testing equipment, fixtures and methods

• Research and procurement

Qualifications:

Overall, a positive attitude and energy are encouraged and favored. Creative thinking and the ability to add input to projects is important. Interns at Fenix are treated not as assistants, but as valued members of the team making a contribution to our success. You should be a self starter and be able to work in a group and individually.

 

• Minimum GPA: 3.0

• Entering Junior year in fall 2011 (Seniors and MS students also applicable)

• Degree program in Electrical engineering, CS or related discipline

• Availability to work full time

 

Other Requirements:

• High-quality and self-documenting coding

• Excellent attention to detail

 

Desired:

• Programming experience in C/C++ and Labview
