Founded in 2009, Fenix International is a venture-funded next-generation energy company with offices in East Africa and Silicon Valley. Our core expertise is in renewable energy, mobile finance, and last-mile sales, marketing, distribution and customer service.

Management
Lyndsay Handler
Lyndsay has 13 years of leadership and operations experience on the ground in East Africa and Silicon Valley in the fields of renewable energy, microfinance and education. Before establishing the Fenix East Africa team, Lyndsay created an energy distribution and financing company in Western Kenya and developed a deep understanding of rural East African consumers. Lyndsay is the recipient of the MTN Women in Business Award for Excellence in Financial Services and the MTN Outstanding Woman in Innovation Award. Lyndsay studied International Relations at Stanford University, where she received a Haas Public Service Fellowship for her work in Tanzania.
Mike Lin
A serial entrepreneur, Mike previously founded Vestal Design, an award-winning design firm, and B.MINIMA, an eco-solutions company. He has also lectured environmental engineering and design at Stanford as well as social entrepreneurship at Yale. Mike consulted for Apple on climate change and environmental toxins and worked with Al Gore on the “Inconvenient Truth” presentation. Mike is a LEED accredited professional, a recipient of the EPA’s People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) Award, Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Award and BusinessWeek IDEA Award. Mike earned both his BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
Brian Warshawsky
Brian is a seasoned entrepreneur, engineer and operations manager with experience in fast-growth, high-volume consumer electronics manufacturing. Brian was an early member of the Apple iPod operations team, and was the operations lead for the development and introduction of the iPod mini. Brian went on to manage the introduction of a number of iPod products and manufacturing processes, and was responsible for evaluating and bringing up new production facilities in Taiwan, China, and Europe. Brian has also worked at startups in Boston and San Francisco, including co-founding Potenco. Brian earned a BS from Brown University and MS in Materials Engineering from MIT.
Jit Bhattacharya
Jit brings to Fenix over 10 years of leadership experience in cleantech and product development from Silicon Valley. He is most well-known for his time as CEO of Mission Motors, a company which developed state-of-the-art electric vehicle technology and the Mission R electric motorcycle, one of the highest performing electric vehicles ever made. Following Mission, Jit worked as a senior manager in the Special Projects Group at Apple, working on the company’s future product lines. Prior to his roles in Silicon Valley, Jit consulted on off-grid electrification projects in rural South Africa. Jit earned an M.S. in mechanical engineering from Stanford and an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas, where he also served as the co-president of the Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative.
